Twenty three (23) researcher and
extension agents from Arabian Peninsula countries including
Bahrain, Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemeni,
attended a training workshop on “Good Agricultural Practices
(GAP) for Protected Agriculture” |

from 28 Nov to 1 Dec 2011 in Doha,
Qatar. The training workshop was organized jointly by ICARDA, AVRDC-The World Vegetable Center and Ministry of
Environment, Qatar in coloration with Al Sulaiteen Agricultural
& Industrial Complex (SAIC). |

and capacity of NARES on GAP standards in: 1) Selection
and evaluation of production sites; 2) Soil and media
management; 3) Seed and production materials management;
4) Fertigation and Irrigation management; 5) Crop
protection; 6)Harvest & Production handling; 7)
Health and safety of workers and work environment 8)
Management, maintenance and calibration of equipment;
and 9) Documentation & internal audit |
